Christian Pulisic Set to Join AC Milan: End of Chelsea Stint and New Beginning Await

Christian Pulisic is on the verge of transferring to AC Milan following an agreement between the Italian Serie A club and Chelsea regarding the transfer fee. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the deal is valued at approximately €20 million (£17m/$22m) with additional performance-based incentives. Currently on vacation after aiding the United States Men’s National Team in winning the Nations League, Pulisic is expected to travel to Italy to undergo a medical examination at Milan.

This development marks the conclusion of a protracted saga for the 24-year-old. Pulisic had already agreed to personal terms with Milan weeks ago, as he had set his sights solely on joining Stefano Pioli’s team. However, it took some time for Milan to reach an agreement with Chelsea, as their initial two offers were reportedly turned down.

Moreover, this move allows Pulisic to put behind a disappointing period at Chelsea. After signing for the Blues from Borussia Dortmund in 2019, he was immediately loaned back to the German club for an additional year. Despite amassing 145 appearances for Chelsea, the winger struggled to meet expectations. In the previous season, Pulisic featured in the Premier League on 24 occasions, but only managed to start in eight of those matches, seemingly leaving him with no alternative but to seek a fresh start elsewhere.
