Erik ten Hag, the Manchester United coach, has identified four players he intends to sell this summer in an effort to streamline his squad. The Independent reports that the Dutch coach aims to offload Harry Maguire, Jadon Sancho, Fred, and Scott McTominay within the next two weeks, as they do not feature in his long-term plans.
Taking a broader perspective, these four players struggled to secure regular starting positions under Ten Hag in his inaugural season at the club. While Sancho had the most appearances, starting in 21 of his 26 Premier League games, Fred saw more playing time overall, featuring in 35 top-flight matches, albeit only 12 as a starter. McTominay started in 10 of his 24 Premier League appearances, while Maguire began eight games and made eight additional substitute appearances.
In addition, parting ways with these players may prove challenging for Manchester United. Maguire, in particular, is reportedly on high wages, and the club is said to be seeking around £50 million ($64.2m) for his transfer. Furthermore, there are rumors that Tottenham is interested in Sancho, and United might consider including him in a potential deal to persuade the London club to part with Harry Kane.
