Al-Ittihad Contemplates Record-Breaking Bid for Salah as Transfer Window Nears End

Ahead of the summer transfer window’s closure, Al-Ittihad is reportedly gearing up to challenge Liverpool’s stance with an audacious bid of €150 million (£129 million/$162 million) for Mohamed Salah. Despite Salah’s current commitment to Anfield through a contract extending until 2025 and his public declaration of contentment, recent reports have hinted at his intrigue by Saudi Arabian interest.

CBS Sports has revealed that Al-Ittihad, boasting Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema among their ranks, is preparing a substantial financial proposal for Salah. This offer would not only elevate his earning potential but also position him alongside luminaries such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar in the realm of salaries. The proposed terms, encompassing £86 million ($108 million) in guaranteed payments and £43 million ($54 million) in performance-related bonuses, would constitute a groundbreaking Saudi transfer record.

While Liverpool remains steadfast in its reluctance to entertain the idea of a sale, the situation could evolve if Salah indicates a desire to engage in negotiations. As the transfer window inches towards its conclusion, the course of action for both parties remains under watchful consideration.
