Al-Ittihad Unveils Mega Signing: Fabinho Joins the Tigers in £40m Deal from Liverpool

Al-Ittihad, a Saudi Pro League club, has made a significant transfer move by securing Fabinho from Liverpool for an impressive £40 million ($51.3m) deal. The Brazilian midfielder’s signing marks the second time a Liverpool player has moved to a Saudi Arabian club in a short span, following Jordan Henderson’s switch to Al-Ettifaq.

The club revealed the deal on Monday evening through a captivating video titled ‘Tigers are allowed to pass,’ accompanied by official pictures of Fabinho. The images were shared with the caption: “Welcome Fabinho in the stronghold of the tigers.” Fabinho, aged 29, has committed to a contract that will keep him at Al-Ittihad until 2026.

Interestingly, the announcement video alluded to a supposed obstacle in the transfer involving Fabinho’s concerns about his dogs. Earlier reports suggested that the player was troubled by Saudi Arabia’s regulations banning ‘dangerous and aggressive dogs’ as he is a proud owner of two bulldogs. However, these stories were ultimately found to be baseless.
