Chelsea Nears Signing Michael Olise from Crystal Palace, Manchester City in Pursuit

The competition to secure the services of Michael Olise is intensifying, and Chelsea appears to be in pole position as they have reportedly agreed on personal terms with the Crystal Palace star. According to RMC Sport, Olise has reached an agreement on personal terms with Chelsea following the Blues’ offer of approximately £26 million ($33m) for the talented winger. While this fee falls slightly short of Olise’s reported release clause of £35 million ($45m), it seems to have been sufficient to progress the potential transfer.

The 21-year-old displayed an impressive creative output last season, becoming the first-ever Crystal Palace player to record 10 assists in a single campaign. This remarkable performance has attracted interest from several top Premier League clubs, with Chelsea leading the race since an agreement in principle was reached in late July.

However, Chelsea is not the only club actively pursuing the Frenchman during this transfer window. Manchester City has been closely trailing Olise throughout the summer. Reports suggest that City’s interest intensified following the departure of forward Riyad Mahrez to Al-Ahli, with Pep Guardiola keen to secure Olise as a suitable replacement.

As the competition between Chelsea and Manchester City heats up, the eventual destination of Michael Olise remains a focal point of the transfer market. Both clubs recognize the potential in the young winger and seek to add him to their squads for the upcoming season.
