Eden Hazard’s Potential Retirement Amid Chelsea Return Speculation

Speculation about Eden Hazard making a return to Chelsea has been circulating, but Fabrizio Romano dismisses these sensational rumors. The 32-year-old Belgian is currently a free agent following a disappointing tenure at Real Madrid, which came to an end in the summer. Real Madrid released him after a meager tally of seven goals in four seasons with the La Liga giants. While there has been talk of Hazard potentially rejoining Stamford Bridge, where he scored 110 goals in 352 appearances before his €100 million (£86m/$107m) transfer to Spain, Romano indicates that there is no concrete truth to these speculations.

In a conversation with CaughtOffside, Romano revealed that Hazard is currently exploring various options. He stated, “There is much speculation surrounding Eden Hazard, who is still a free agent, but as of now, I’m not aware of any solid developments. There are numerous rumors, but nothing substantial. At this point, Hazard is in discussions with his family and close associates about the possibility of retirement. Retirement is indeed a genuine option for Hazard, but it hasn’t been definitively decided. When we discuss a significant decision like this for a prominent player like Hazard, I prefer to be respectful. The player should make the decision and communicate it, not journalists or others in general. He is certainly contemplating retirement, but let’s wait to see what he decides. I can confirm that all the rumors about Belgian clubs, a return to Chelsea, or other clubs, none of them have materialized or are true.”

During his time at Chelsea, Hazard earned a reputation as one of the most formidable forwards in the world of football. He claimed two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, League Cup, and two Europa League trophies during his seven-year stint in England.
