Everton Faces Player Exodus Threat Amid Takeover Uncertainty

If the proposed takeover by 777 Partners is blocked, it’s rumored that Everton could face a significant player exodus in the upcoming January transfer window. The Toffees had been anticipating a change in ownership to have already occurred, as Farhad Moshiri had made it clear that he wouldn’t be injecting additional funds into the club. Given this financial stance, Everton requires resources to cover their day-to-day operating expenses. Moreover, the club is in the process of building a new stadium, with loans from 777 Partners and MSP Sports Capital helping to sustain their operations for the time being. However, these loans are unlikely to see them through the entire season, and Everton has reported financial losses for five consecutive years.

Due to these monetary concerns at Goodison Park, there are reports in the Daily Mail indicating that valuable assets may need to be sold in the upcoming transfer window. Among the players who could potentially be part of these January sales are England international goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, Belgian midfielder Amadou Onana, and star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The club’s hope still rests on finalizing a deal with 777 Partners, pending approval from the Premier League and Football Association. Meanwhile, it’s noted that Sean Dyche’s position as the club’s manager appears to be secure for the time being, despite Everton’s struggle to secure just four points from six Premier League fixtures this season.
