Experienced Ashley Young Set for Everton Medical, Poised to Become Sean Dyche’s First Signing

On Tuesday, Ashley Young is scheduled to undergo a medical examination at Everton as he looks to join the club as a free agent following his departure from Aston Villa. The 38-year-old footballer is poised to become the first signing made by Sean Dyche since he took over as manager in January.

During the previous season, Young started in 23 matches for Villa but was subsequently released after spending two years there. Having played 17 consecutive seasons in the top-flight of football since his promotion with Watford from the Championship in 2006, Young briefly interrupted his time in the Premier League with a stint at Internazionale.

With an impressive record of 422 appearances in the Premier League, Young has garnered vast experience and versatility. While he initially made a name for himself as a winger, he is capable of operating in various positions, including full-back. Although predominantly used as a right-back last season, he also featured as a left-back. In the previous campaign, Young showcased his adaptability by playing across four different midfield positions and as a left-winger.
