Haaland’s Agent Denies Real Madrid Talks Amidst Transfer Speculation

Erling Haaland’s agent has moved to downplay any speculation that she was in Madrid for transfer discussions with Real Madrid, the renowned La Liga team. Haaland, the prolific Norwegian sensation who scored 52 goals for Manchester City during their triumphant Treble-winning season, is currently firmly committed to the reigning Premier League champions. He has a contract with the Etihad Stadium that extends until 2027. Nonetheless, there have been suggestions that this contract includes a release clause that could be activated by non-English clubs in the summer of 2024. Reports indicate that a substantial transfer fee ranging from €180 million to €200 million would be necessary to facilitate a high-value transfer.

Haaland has been linked with Real Madrid for a considerable period, given their constant pursuit of high-profile “Galactico” signings. However, Rafael Pimenta, Haaland’s agent, firmly refutes the notion that she is laying the groundwork for an immediate move to Spain. When spotted at the Santiago Bernabeu during the Blancos’ Champions League match against Braga, she stated to El Chiringuito, “I’ve visited here on multiple occasions. Discussing Haaland with Florentino Perez? No, no, no, no.”

It’s worth noting that Haaland’s name may resurface on Real’s recruitment radar, especially since reports suggest they’ve abandoned their longstanding interest in Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe, who is set to become a free agent at the conclusion of the 2023-24 season as his contract in France winds down.
