Jesse Lingard Nears Premier League Return as West Ham Trial Proves Impressive

Jesse Lingard, the former Manchester United standout, appears to be on the brink of a return to the Premier League, with West Ham showing strong interest following his impressive trial. The Evening Standard reports that West Ham is actively contemplating the inclusion of Lingard in their squad, a decision motivated by the positive reception of his performances during training sessions.

In a bid to maintain his fitness, the 30-year-old has been engaged in training activities with West Ham, subsequent to Nottingham Forest’s decision not to extend his contract. Notably, Lingard had a previous stint at West Ham under the guidance of David Moyes. During this period, he secured a six-month loan agreement with the club in January 2021. Lingard’s impact was immediate, as he contributed nine goals and facilitated five assists across 16 Premier League matches. This substantial contribution played a pivotal role in propelling West Ham to an impressive sixth-place finish in the Premier League standings.
