Liverpool Transfer Target Jamal Musiala Amidst Frustration at Bayern Munich

Liverpool is reportedly eyeing Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala for a potential transfer, alongside Leroy Sane. Musiala and Sane showcased their talents for the Germany national team in their recent victory over the USMNT, with Musiala scoring Germany’s third goal, capping off an impressive display under new coach Julian Nagelsmann. Despite his strong showing, Musiala is uncertain about his prospects of securing a regular starting spot under Bayern’s coach Thomas Tuchel, who has often favored Thomas Muller over him. This situation has led to frustration for the young midfielder, who is eager for consistent playing time.

Musiala’s contract with Bayern runs until 2026, and talks about a possible extension were initiated with former Bayern sports director Hasan Salihamidzic during the summer. However, these discussions have been put on hold. Musiala’s camp is adopting a wait-and-see approach to evaluate Tuchel’s treatment of the player in the coming months.

Beyond Liverpool’s interest, Real Madrid is also keen on acquiring Musiala, potentially pairing him with Jude Bellingham at the Santiago Bernabeu. Jurgen Klopp has reportedly identified Musiala as a target for Liverpool, alongside teammate Sane, who is considered a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah. While Bayern is open to increasing Musiala’s current annual wages of €8 million, the 20-year-old midfielder is more interested in gaining more playing time, especially given his consistently high performance levels.
