Manchester United Nears €85 Million Deal for Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta

Manchester United is on the verge of finalizing the signing of Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta in a deal worth €85 million (£73m/$94m). The two clubs, United and Atalanta, have reached an agreement on the transfer, with the initial fee set at €75 million (£64m/$83m), along with an additional €10 million (£9m/$11m) in potential add-ons, as reported by Sky.

According to The Daily Mail, the 20-year-old striker is expected to sign a five-year contract, with the option of an additional year. In the broader context, Manchester United has been actively searching for a new striker throughout the summer transfer window. The move for Hojlund gained traction when he was notably left out of Atalanta’s squad for a friendly match against Bournemouth on Saturday, indicating a likely impending transfer.

Paris Saint-Germain also entered the race for the young talent and made a bid of €50 million (£43m/$56m), seizing the opportunity amidst the uncertainty surrounding Kylian Mbappe’s future. However, the offer was rejected, paving the way for Manchester United to emerge as the frontrunners for Hojlund’s signature. With the deal now in its final stages, United appears set to secure the talented striker, bolstering their attacking options for the upcoming season.
