Newcastle on the Verge of Signing Tino Livramento for Around £40 Million

Newcastle United is on the brink of finalizing a deal to secure the signing of Tino Livramento from Southampton. The Saints have accepted an offer close to £40 million ($51m) for the highly talented 20-year-old.

The negotiation process for Livramento’s transfer has been protracted due to Chelsea’s entitlement to a significant sell-on fee from any potential transfer. This resulted in Southampton demanding a substantial sum to ensure a profitable deal for themselves. Livramento initially joined Southampton from Chelsea in the summer of 2021 for a relatively modest fee of £5 million ($6m), making his potential move to Newcastle a highly lucrative one for Southampton.

This move is part of Newcastle’s busy transfer window, where they have been proactive in strengthening their squad. Earlier this summer, they secured the signings of Sandro Tonali from AC Milan for an impressive £60 million ($76m) and Harvey Barnes from Leicester City for £38 million ($49m). The addition of Tino Livramento is set to further bolster Newcastle’s squad and enhance their prospects for the upcoming season.
