Raphael Varane Linked with Ronaldo Reunion At Al-Nassr

Reports suggest that Raphael Varane might be on the verge of reuniting with Cristiano Ronaldo, as Al-Nassr emerges as a potential destination for the Manchester United defender. Several Saudi clubs, including Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr, are reportedly interested in signing the 30-year-old center-back during the upcoming January transfer window, according to Teamtalk. Manchester United has experienced a dismal start to the season, losing eight of their first 15 matches, leading to discontentment within the squad under manager Erik ten Hag’s leadership.

The players, including Varane, have reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with Ten Hag’s team selections. Varane was notably dropped against Manchester City and completely left out for the Carabao Cup match against Newcastle United, despite being fully fit.

While Champions League clubs have also expressed interest in Varane, Saudi Arabia could offer him a more financially enticing deal, especially considering the promises allegedly unmet since his signing in 2021. Varane’s current weekly earnings at Old Trafford exceed £300,000. With a growing gap between Manchester United and other Premier League powerhouses, Varane might seek stability elsewhere, especially amid potential squad overhauls.

Varane’s contract with Manchester United runs until 2025, prompting the club to command a significant transfer fee to recoup part of their £41 million investment in the player. As the January transfer window approaches, Varane’s future remains uncertain, with Saudi Arabia keen on attracting top talents to the Pro League.
