Officials from Saudi Arabia have journeyed to England in a final bid to entice Liverpool into selling Mohamed Salah. Al-Ittihad recently made a £150 million ($189 million) offer for the Egyptian star, which Liverpool rejected last week. While the door to Salah moving to the Middle East this week hasn’t been entirely shut, The Daily Mail reports that a delegation arrived in England on Saturday to resume discussions with Liverpool.
In the broader context, Liverpool has been emphatic about their reluctance to part with Salah. Jurgen Klopp asserted on Sunday that Salah remains “our player and wants to play here,” and he reaffirmed last week that the player is “super committed” to Liverpool. Furthermore, midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai stated that the forward “wants to stay” at Anfield.
Nonetheless, the Saudi Pro League side intends to challenge Liverpool’s resolve by potentially making a world-record offer in the vicinity of £200 million ($252 million) for the attacker. The Saudi delegation will engage in talks with Liverpool regarding a possible deal before the Saudi transfer window closes on Thursday.
