United’s McTominay Stays Put Despite Transfer Speculations

Despite considering the possibility of selling Scott McTominay during the summer transfer window, Erik ten Hag has now ruled out Manchester United offloading the midfielder in January. United engaged in discussions with West Ham and reportedly attracted interest from Bayern Munich prior to the 2023-24 season. Despite these offers, the Red Devils decided to reject West Ham’s advances and retain the services of the 26-year-old Scotland international.

McTominay has proven to be a valuable asset for United this season, featuring in six matches across various competitions. According to The Daily Star, Ten Hag has insisted that the club retain McTominay until the end of the current campaign, at least. In a recent match against Brentford, McTominay showcased his potential, coming off the bench to score two crucial goals, leading United to a comeback victory from a 1-0 deficit.

Having risen through the ranks of the United youth academy, McTominay has amassed 215 appearances for the club since his debut in 2017. His contract with the club is set to expire in 2025, with an option for the Old Trafford club to extend it for another year.
