West Ham in Talks with Manchester United for Scott McTominay as a Potential Declan Rice Replacement

West Ham United is currently engaged in discussions with Manchester United to secure the signature of midfielder Scott McTominay, whom they see as a potential replacement for the departed Declan Rice. According to Football Insider, West Ham has initiated talks with United to bolster their midfield options following Rice’s move to Arsenal. However, negotiations could prove to be challenging as Manchester United is holding out for a fee of around £40 million ($50m) for McTominay, a sum that West Ham currently considers too high.

David Moyes, West Ham’s manager, holds a strong admiration for the Scottish international and aims to add him to his squad ahead of the 2023-24 Premier League campaign. Meanwhile, Manchester United is open to cashing in on McTominay as they seek to approach Fiorentina for the signing of Sofyan Amrabat.

It’s worth noting that Scott McTominay is under contract with Manchester United until 2025. He was a key player for Erik ten Hag’s side last season, featuring in 39 matches, scoring three goals, and providing one assist. The ongoing negotiations between West Ham and Manchester United indicate a potential significant transfer move for McTominay, as both clubs look to enhance their squads for the upcoming season.
