Manchester City Leads Race for Dani Olmo Amidst European Interest

Manchester City appears to be in the forefront of the race to sign Spanish international Dani Olmo, with Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Chelsea also expressing interest. Reports from Mundo Deportivo indicate that City is closely monitoring Olmo’s situation at RB Leipzig and is considered the top contender to secure the 25-year-old midfielder. Although City aimed to bring him on board during the summer, they were unable to reach an agreement with the Bundesliga club.

Furthermore, according to SportBild, Olmo himself is contemplating a fresh challenge next season and may consider leaving Leipzig, especially given the interest from clubs like Real Madrid and City. Several other teams, including Arsenal, Chelsea, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid, are also keeping an eye on the situation. Despite Olmo’s initial intention to stay at Leipzig, where he signed an extension until 2027, it appears he might have had a change of heart, especially with European giants vying for his signature. His contract includes a €60 million (£52m/$64m) release clause.

Olmo had an exceptional start to the season, scoring five times in four appearances, including a hat-trick against Bayern Munich in the Super Cup, before sustaining a knee injury while on international duty with Spain in September.
