Dortmund is keeping an eye on Chelsea Chalobah

Borussia Dortmund has expressed keen interest in securing the services of Chelsea defender Trevor Chalobah, following his unsuccessful transfer attempt to Bayern Munich during the summer. According to Bild, Dortmund sees Chalobah as a valuable addition to their central defense, providing much-needed depth. Sporting directors Sebastian Kehl and Edin Terzic are eager to incorporate the 24-year-old into their squad during the winter transfer window, especially after their failed pursuit of Armel Bella-Kotchap on loan in the summer. Chalobah’s versatility stands out, as he can also operate as a defensive midfielder or a right-back, addressing areas where Dortmund lacks quality.

Looking at the bigger picture, although Chalobah’s connection with Bayern Munich recently became uncertain, he had previously been strongly linked with the club. Additionally, rumors linking him to Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur have surfaced, creating a buzz as January approaches.

As for what comes next, Chalobah, whose contract with Chelsea runs until 2028, is likely to move on loan with an option to buy in the summer.
