Romelu Lukaku Completes Season-Long Loan Move to AS Roma from Chelsea

Chelsea has formally announced that Romelu Lukaku’s transfer to AS Roma on a season-long loan has been successfully concluded. The confirmation came through a succinct statement posted on the club’s official website.

The statement reads: “Romelu Lukaku has finalized a season-long loan move to Serie A side A.S. Roma. The Belgian international, who joined Chelsea in the summer of 2021, spent the previous season on loan at Inter Milan. Lukaku is set to reunite with former Chelsea head coach Jose Mourinho in the Italian capital, following Mourinho’s successful run guiding Roma to the Europa League final last season.”

Of notable significance, Lukaku will don the No. 90 jersey for Roma, a number he also wore during his time at Inter Milan last season. During his tenure in Serie A, Lukaku exhibited his prowess by netting 14 goals in 37 matches. The prospect of another season in the Italian top flight clearly excites him.

Lukaku expressed his enthusiasm for this new chapter: “The warm welcome I’ve received from the club and its fans has ignited my excitement and amplified my commitment to give my utmost for my new team. Having experienced the Stadio Olimpico’s atmosphere as an opponent, and having sensed the passion of the Romanisti, it’s truly rewarding to realize I’m now part of it. In recent times, I had the privilege to converse with the owners and was deeply impressed by their aspirations. We now embark on the journey of hard work, growth, and humility, game by game. Personally, I eagerly await the chance to contribute to my teammates, both on and off the field.
