Real Madrid’s pursuit of Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez has emerged as a contingency plan following their unsuccessful attempt to secure Kylian Mbappe’s services this summer. The expectation is that Los Blancos will finally secure Mbappe’s signature in the next season when his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires.
However, recent reports suggest that Mbappe may ink a new contract with PSG that includes a provision for his departure in 2024, albeit for a transfer fee. Although their primary focus remains on Mbappe, Real Madrid has taken steps to identify backup options, including City’s forward Alvarez, as reported by Fichajes. The 23-year-old has been a regular starter for City this season, featuring in every game.
In his four Premier League appearances, Alvarez has notched two goals and contributed one assist to his team’s cause.
