Liverpool Nearing Contract Renewals for Alexander-Arnold and Tsimikas

Liverpool is in the process of finalizing contract terms with their vice-captain, Trent Alexander-Arnold, for a new long-term agreement, as reported by 90min.

Alexander-Arnold, a product of Liverpool’s renowned youth academy, boasts a remarkable tally of over 270 appearances for his hometown club and is poised to become one of their highest-paid players. While he inked his current deal in 2021, the 24-year-old is now on track to see his weekly earnings increase to approximately £250,000-per-week, aligning his income with that of the world’s top full-backs.

Sources have revealed to 90min that both Barcelona and Real Madrid have expressed keen interest in Alexander-Arnold, as well as his England teammate Reece James. Nevertheless, he is set to emulate Reece James by committing his future to Liverpool. Progress in negotiations with Alexander-Arnold is reportedly positive, and Liverpool anticipates finalizing the proposed new contract well before the Christmas season.

Alexander-Arnold isn’t the sole Liverpool full-back ready to pledge his future to the club. According to 90min, Greece international Kostas Tsimikas is also prepared to sign a new contract. Although Tsimikas’ current deal extends until 2025, he is inclined to extend it until 2027, with discussions in the final stages.

Tsimikas, who arrived from Olympiacos in 2020, has primarily served as Andy Robertson’s backup on the left flank but has still amassed over 60 appearances for Liverpool and enjoys high esteem from manager Jurgen Klopp.
