Man Utd ready to let Jadon Sancho leave in cut-price January deal

Manchester United appears to be open to the possibility of parting ways with Jadon Sancho, who has fallen out of favor at the club. In January, there are reports of the club considering a discounted transfer deal for the English international. Earlier this month, Sancho had a public disagreement with manager Erik ten Hag, resulting in his exclusion from the first-team squad. Initially, the Dutch coach cited concerns about the 23-year-old’s training performance, leading to a heated exchange where Sancho accused the former Ajax manager of unfairly blaming him for the team’s poor start to the season. With negotiations seemingly deadlocked, the Daily Star has suggested that Manchester United might attempt to minimize their financial losses on the player they acquired for £73 million ($89.7 million) in 2021.

Taking a broader perspective, Sancho, despite being one of the most expensive English players in transfer history, has only managed to score 12 goals in 82 appearances for Manchester United. Questions about his attitude have arisen in the past, both during his time at Borussia Dortmund and earlier in his youth career at Manchester City. There is now a real possibility that he may never wear the Manchester United jersey again, marking what could be considered a disappointing tenure at Old Trafford.
