Manchester United Eyeing Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah

Manchester United is considering making a move for Bayer Leverkusen’s highly-rated defender Jonathan Tah, who is valued at £20 million. Newcastle United has also shown interest in Tah. Due to numerous defensive injuries, Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, is actively seeking reinforcements. However, competition for Tah is stiff, with other clubs like West Ham and several European teams eyeing him after his impressive performance this season. Leverkusen might expect offers higher than Tah’s current valuation due to the high demand for such a talented player.

Tah has been a key player in Leverkusen’s successful season in the Bundesliga and Europa League, where they maintain an unbeaten record. Standing at 6’5″, the imposing defender has scored four goals and missed just one game across all competitions this season.

With slightly over 18 months left on his contract, Leverkusen might feel pressured to sell if substantial bids arrive in January. Since joining Leverkusen in 2015, the 27-year-old has made over 300 appearances for the club and earned 19 caps for the German national team since his debut in 2016. Currently on international duty, Tah is set to return to Leverkusen for their match against Werder Bremen on November 25 after featuring in Germany’s games against Turkey and Austria.
