Sporting CP’s Ousmane Diomande Commits to Stay Amid Transfer Speculations

Reports suggest that Ousmane Diomande, the standout talent at Sporting CP, is resolute about remaining with the Portuguese club throughout the January transfer window. Despite continuous links to Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle, A Bola claims that the 19-year-old center-back intends to maximize his playing time at Sporting CP until the culmination of the 2023-24 season.

Arsenal reportedly initiated a bid for Diomande, while Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Newcastle are also purportedly observing his performances this season. However, A Bola specifies that any club aspiring to secure his services will need to match his staggering release clause of €80 million (£70m/$87m) set by Sporting CP.

Diomande made the move to Sporting CP from Danish side Midtjylland in January of the current year. His consistent appearances in both the Primeira Liga and Europa League have been commendable, contributing significantly to Ruben Amorim’s squad. Diomande aims to aid Sporting CP in their quest for the Primeira Liga title, with the Lisbon-based club currently level on points with Benfica at the league’s summit. Additionally, they hold the second position in their Europa League group, with two matches left to play.
