Spurs in the lead to sign one of Premier Leauges ‘best players’

It’s been reported by The Guardian that Tottenham Hotspurs is the frontrunner to sign James Maddison for the next season. This after both Spurs and Newcastle previously has shown their interest in the 26 year old midfielder.

According to The Guardians the interest from The Magpies has cooled down, and Newcastle’s priorities supposedly lies elsewhere. The latest news says that Newcasle now are closing in on AC Milan’s Sandro Tonali. This deal is likely to cost them around £60 million, which is great news for Spurs who supposedly have made a joint bid for Maddison and his teammate Harvey Barnes.

Tottenham are believed to be willing to pay somewhere between £70 million and £80 million for Maddison and Barnes. Leicester are looking to get at least £50 million for Maddison, and have set the asking price for Harvey Barnes to £80 million.

If Tottenham were to close this deal things are looking optimistic for Ange Postecoglou and his team for the next Premier League season.
